Frequently asked questions
How do I make an addition worksheet?
Choose the number ranges for each addend, set how many problems per page and how many pages, then print or download the generated PDF. Toggle the answer key on for a marking sheet.
Should addition facts be memorized or worked out?
Both, in that order. Children first work a fact out by counting on or making ten, then practice until the answer comes from memory. A fact is known when it is answered in about three seconds without counting. Keep the number ranges small until that happens, then widen them.
Can I make regrouping (carrying) addition worksheets?
Yes. Set the Regrouping option to 'Regrouping Only' and the generator will only include problems where carrying is required, giving focused practice on that skill.
What grade level are these addition worksheets for?
Single-digit addition suits kindergarten through grade 2, two-digit addition with and without regrouping suits grades 1–3, and three-digit column addition suits grades 2–4.
