Frequently asked questions

Why does the 7th grade pack review 6th grade math?

A substitute cannot know where a 7th grade class is in the book, and a teacher who is out sick often cannot say. Dividing fractions and working with decimals is 6th grade math the students have met, so it is safe on any day of the year, and no one has to be taught anything new.

Why is there no ratio or algebra in the 7th grade pack?

Ratios, percents and equations each need a method that a student may have to be reminded of, and a substitute may not be the person to do it. The pack keeps to 6th grade work with fractions, decimals and division, which a class can do on its own. The 6th grade page has ratio, percent and equation worksheets for a day when you are there.
