Dividing a decimal by a whole number. Every problem is built backwards from a chosen answer, so the division always comes out exactly - no problem needs rounding or a repeating decimal. The point in the answer goes straight up above the point in the number being divided.
Dividing by a decimal - 0.6 divided by 0.2 - is a separate skill whose whole content is moving the point in both numbers first, and these sheets leave it out. The answer prints at the number of places it actually needs, so 4.5 divided by 3 is written 1.5, not 1.50.

How do you divide a decimal by a whole number?
Divide as you would with whole numbers, and bring the decimal point straight up into the quotient directly above where it sits in the dividend.
Do the answers ever repeat or need rounding?
No. Each problem is generated from a whole quotient times a whole divisor, so every division on these sheets terminates exactly.
What about dividing by a decimal?
That is a different lesson - you shift the point in both numbers to make the divisor whole first. These sheets divide by whole numbers only.
What if the divisor does not go into the first digit?
Write a zero above it and carry on. In 1.68 ÷ 4, 4 does not go into 1, so write 0 and the decimal point. Then 4 goes into 16 four times and into 8 twice, which gives 0.42.
