Free printable 3 times table worksheets. Every fact from 3 x 0 to 3 x 12, printed both ways round, with an optional answer key.
The 3 times table is where counting on stops being enough and patterns start to help. Apart from 0, the digits of every answer up to 3 x 12 add up to 3, 6 or 9: 3 x 7 is 21, and 2 + 1 is 3. A child can use that to check an answer they are unsure of.
Each sheet holds the whole table: 3 x 0 to 3 x 12 and the same facts turned around, twenty-five in all, each printed once and in a new order every time.

Double the number, then add one more of it. 3 x 8 is 8 + 8 + 8: double 8 is 16, and one more 8 makes 24.
Add its digits. For any answer in the table except 0, the total is 3, 6 or 9. 3 x 9 is 27, and 2 + 7 is 9, so it passes; 26 would not.
In third grade, after the 2s, 5s and 10s. Those three tables already give a child some of the 3s: 3 x 2, 3 x 5 and 3 x 10 are facts they know, turned around.
