Telling Time to the Hour
Free printable telling time to the hour worksheets. Read o'clock times from analog clocks, with an answer key.
Every clock on this sheet shows an o'clock time, so the minute hand always points straight up and the hour hand always points straight at a number. That is the first version of the skill, and keeping it clean matters: a student still working out which hand is which does not need the hour hand sitting between two numbers as well.
Nine clocks to a page, printed large. Move on to the half hour once these are quick, and the hour hand starts moving off the numbers.

Which hand is which?
The short thick hand is the hour; the long thin one is the minutes. On this sheet the long hand always points at the 12.

Choose fewer problems per page - six prints them larger than nine, and both fit on one sheet.
How do you write an o'clock time?
With the hour, a colon and two zeros: 3:00. The two zeros mean no minutes past the hour. "Three o'clock" and 3:00 are the same time.
