Calendar Worksheets

Free printable calendar worksheets: one real month a sheet and eight questions about it. Days of the week, dates, and counting days and weeks, with a key.

Each sheet draws one month of a real calendar: the month and year across the top, the days of the week along the head, and every date in its own box under its weekday. Eight questions follow, and every one is answered from that month.

The questions are the four a calendar is read for: what day of the week a date falls on, the date of the second Tuesday or the last Friday, how many Mondays or how many days the month has, and what date comes a few days or a few weeks before or after another. Every sheet asks all four kinds, two of each.

Every answer is on the page. Counting forward never runs past the end of the month, and counting back never runs before the 1st. No date is asked about or given as an answer twice, so one answer never gives another away. Choose a month in the settings to print the one your class is on; a sheet of several pages shows that month in a different year on each.

Frequently asked questions

How do you find the date one week later on a calendar?

Go straight down one box. Each row is a week, so the date below any date is seven days later, and two boxes down is two weeks. To count a few days, move along the row, and after Saturday carry on from Sunday on the next row.

How do you count 12 days on a calendar?

Split it into a week and some days. Go down one row for the week, then along five boxes for the rest. Counting every box one at a time gets the same date, but the week-first way is quicker and easier to check.

How do you find the date of the second Tuesday?

Find the Tuesday column and read down it. The first date in the column is the first Tuesday and the next is the second. The last Tuesday is the bottom date in the column, which is the fourth Tuesday in some months and the fifth in others.

Is 20 the right answer, or does it have to say October 20?

Either is right. The answer key writes month and day because that is how the questions ask, but every question is about the month on the sheet, so 20, the 20th and October 20 all name the same date.
