Every problem on this sheet carries. The generator filters out any pair of two-digit numbers whose ones column adds to less than ten, so a student cannot get through the page without regrouping once - which is the difference between practising carrying and practising addition.
That is the point of drilling it this way, and also its limitation: a page where every problem carries teaches the mechanic, but it does not teach the judgement of when to carry. Once it is solid, switch Regrouping to Both so the page mixes carrying and non-carrying problems and the decision comes back.
When the digits in one column add to ten or more, the ten is carried into the next column. It is the same thing as carrying; regrouping is the term most current curricula use.
Set Regrouping to No Regrouping and every problem on the page will add without carrying.
